This is my first sponge cake draft writing

Last week Friday our class were separated into groups of four. In my group was Kohuroa, Raumati and Kura to make sponge cakes for technology.

First of all the whole class washed their hands. Cracking eggs was the first step. I was terrified to crack a egg because I thought I might drop an egg shell in and gotten yelled at from my group. I told Kohuroa that she could crack my egg in because she was the master cracker. Separating egg yolks from egg whites I thought was going to be a hard job but my group managed to get past that easily. A shell fell in Raumati yelled “Ehh there’s a shell in there”. Better a egg shell then egg yolk. So then Kohuroa quickly grab it out. It was pretty funny when the egg shell fell in though. We laughed. Then we started whisking the egg whites and sugar. Raumati said “Come on I want a turn”. Few minutes later Raumati gave the bowl to me I started whisking for few more minutes. I started getting a sore hand so I gave the bowl to Kura.  That’s when all the hard work started, whisking and whisking, on and on. The more we whisked, it looked different each time. We had finally finished whisking the egg whites to perfect fluffy white. We knew that because the mixture could stand up by itsself. The mixture looked like jelly standing in a tray. So Kura went to ask Whaea Meri if our mixture was finished.
Whaea Meri said “That’s perfect but keep whisking a little bit more. Minutes later she shouted "this is what I want”. Everyone gathered around the table to make sure they could see what the egg whites looked like. Whaea Meri showed everyone our beautiful work.

Then we added egg yolks most of our egg yolks were destroyed but it didn’t really matter. The egg yolks were looking like a two year olds painting anyway. Mixing and mixing, mixing started to become fun we got carried away.

Once the oven door swong open I smelt perfection. I was feeling amazed once our perfect cake came flu out of the oven because it had perfect colour and perfect shape.
